Join host Robert Forto as we welcomes Iditarod musher, Zoya DeNure to Mushing Radio.
It’s not every day that in your past life you are a professional runway model and traveling the world and spending time in far-off locales. Fast-forward to the present and you will find Zoya DeNure–this former model that you will now find in a dog yard knee deep in mud during break-up. Living “off the grid” in Paxson, Alaska with her husband, John and her young daughter, DeNure couldn’t be happier!
In this episode DeNure talks about her plans of opening a brand new canine wellness center soon so that they can best help rehabilitate sled dogs. This is her passion and she is dang good at it. Placing sled dogs that she gets from other teams, often as cast-offs, DeNure works with these dogs until they are ready for a new home and a new life. It may be with a recreational mushing team in Geremany or living the good life on someone’s couch. No matter, these dogs are loving life. That’s what is important, right?
You, bet!

Enjoying the series on the mushers.
Thank you. We should have a different musher on each week if it all works out!
