Join hosts Robert and Michele Forto as we welcome Joe Henderson to Mushing Radio.
Henderson is not your prototypical musher. He spends a 100 days of more out alone in the arctic without ever seeing another human being.
This is mushing like it was two hundred years ago. No race sponsors and dogs bred for speed. No checkpoints and race programs. This is just man and dog working together in vast nothingness.
“I have gone five months without seeing a single soul,” says, Henderson.
When asked why he shows do to something like that. It is simple. Because he can. Henderson spends months on end alone with 22 malamutes traversing some of the North American continent’s most inhospitable and treacherous terrain.
