Craig Medred is spot on. The Iditarod wants to have it both ways, they want to grow, and have fans and contributors from all over the world, yet control the information people want to know. It is fine for the NBA and the NFL to have outlaws, they are willing participants in hurting themselves. The Iditarod is about the DOGS or so they claim, and their safety and wellbeing is paramount to most of the fans. If the fans think ITC is in any way allowing mushers to participate in this premier race, who could conceivably be a danger to the dogs, it will not be a good thing. I think the ITC does a great job with the resources they have putting it all together, but they need to loosen up, and allow the mushers to be personalities, and express their opinions. Nobody expects everything to be perfect just be honest with the fans, we would appreciate it.
