Janssen, known as the Mushin’ Mortician, being that he is the owner of several funeral homes in the Anchorage, Alaska area, has some great stories on this episode. We talk about wipeouts on the sled, saving his dog Marshall with Canine C.P.R. on the trail during last year’s Iditarod, how his professional life helps others deal with “the end of the trail.”
Getting his start in mushing many years ago when he would hook up his four dogs and hit the trails on his rollerblades then he met Iditarod musher Paul Gephardt and became his sponsor. Soon, Janssen found himself on the back of a sled and was hooked!
